Darby proved himself to be one brave and loyal Pit-Bull when he saved his owner from a shark. The shark viciously attacked James White of Rohnert Park, California. James was able to survive the attack because Darby acted just in time.

It was a warm summer day, and James decided to go fishing at Bodega Bay in Sonoma County. Only a little time had passed while James had started fishing when he felt a strong tug on his fishing line. James tried to pull the line in but could not do so for ten minutes, but then the line started coming back to him.

The creature was swimming towards the shore, and when it reached the shallow waters, James realized that he had caught a massive shark.

James wanted to get the hook out of the shark’s mouth, but the shark had already its teeth penetrated in James’s ankle. There was blood everywhere in the water.

James noticed other fishermen there and started shouting for help. Darby, who was left in the car, was the first to respond to James. Darby came running towards James and started to get the shark away from James.

At first, the one-year-old Pit-bull attacked the gills of the shark, but that did not work. The shark’s bite had become even stronger. James told Darby to back off. The loyal pet tried another approach and grabbed the shark by the tail and managed to pull it off James’s leg.

James quickly got rid of the shark by tossing it back into the water. Finally, the shark was gone.

The bond between James and Darby has grown much stronger after this horrific incident. James still carries the scars of the shark bit, but he knows it quite well that it could have been a lot worse if Darby would not have been there.

Here is a video about the story.

Some time ago, I had a dog. It was a beautiful Dalmatian dog called Basil. We got him as a puppy. Unfortunately, when he was less than one year old, he started having epileptic fits. We took him to a doctor, and he prescribed him some medication that had to be given to him twice a day, but still, he had the fits from time to time. He grew to be a big a strong dog, so when he had a fit, the nearby furniture was flying everywhere. It was very distressing for us. Otherwise, he was a very loving but mischievous dog. Especially when our food was served on the table, he would jump and steal the meat. Very naughty. Obviously, we didn’t teach him good manners. He loved eating raw courgettes. So life with Basil was very happy but not very easy. When he was six years old, he had a fit but couldn’t come out from it. Our vet took him to his surgery but was not successful, and after a conference with us had to put him to sleep. We were devastated, especially my children. So now we just have a lot of happy memories and our photos. To honor Basil's legacy, I continue to write articles about fun-loving dogs that remind me of him. I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I do!
