Evan Hastings has a pond behind his residence. The pond has been abandoned for quite some time now, so anyone, including ducks, could use it for free. Evan has a dog named McGee, who happens to be a wanderer. One day, the pooch made his way to the pond and saw one duck.

Instead of being afraid of the pooch, the duck began to be clingy to the dog. The duck might have felt that the pooch was harmless and has a big heart to anyone. According to Evan, McGee is no longer stranger to being friends with other animals.

This is why Evan is confident whenever he allows McGee to go outside because the dog will never hurt anyone. Although Evan has already gotten used to McGee’s charm and friendliness, he did not expect the pooch to be friends with a duck.

Nevertheless, when Evan learned about the dog’s friendship with the duck, the dog owner did not mind. This is because he knows that the pooch would be kind and loving towards the duck. Since the duck has no name, Evan gave her a nickname of Daffy.

Ever since McGee met the duck in the pond, their friendship began to blossom. McGee would often visit the duck in her natural habitat, and they would spend the day together. From time to time, the two best friends would play, but McGee ensures that he is gentle to the duck.

One of the activities that the two love to engage in is doing piggyback. McGee would let Daffy ride on his back, and they would explore the nearby places. This has been one of the unusual activities that the two discovered for themselves. It is a simple one, but it shows the genuineness of their bond.

Some time ago, I had a dog. It was a beautiful Dalmatian dog called Basil. We got him as a puppy. Unfortunately, when he was less than one year old, he started having epileptic fits. We took him to a doctor, and he prescribed him some medication that had to be given to him twice a day, but still, he had the fits from time to time. He grew to be a big a strong dog, so when he had a fit, the nearby furniture was flying everywhere. It was very distressing for us. Otherwise, he was a very loving but mischievous dog. Especially when our food was served on the table, he would jump and steal the meat. Very naughty. Obviously, we didn’t teach him good manners. He loved eating raw courgettes. So life with Basil was very happy but not very easy. When he was six years old, he had a fit but couldn’t come out from it. Our vet took him to his surgery but was not successful, and after a conference with us had to put him to sleep. We were devastated, especially my children. So now we just have a lot of happy memories and our photos. To honor Basil's legacy, I continue to write articles about fun-loving dogs that remind me of him. I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I do!
