Many lives were lost in the recent wildfires in Australia. Regrettably, one of those victims was the family of OJ, the Golden Retriever. Luckily, all of them survived the incident, sadly some of their belongings did not make it out of the fire. Among all those destroyed, there was one item that survived; this shows that the little things in life can go a long way.
Returning home for the first time, OJ discovered that his favorite toy survived the fire. Although it didn’t look new, it was still in one piece. OJ found it sitting in the rubble, and the look on his face showed that he was happy to see his favorite toy again.
OJ and his toy
All dogs know how vital a squeaky toy can be. For OJ, it was no different. He grabbed his toy and began playing with it as if nothing happened. It was a lovely sight that quickly made people all over the world, warmed their hearts.
OJ’s family took some shots with him playing his toy. They also found out that the wedding dress of OJ’s mom also survived the fire. But the loss of their home was still a heavy burden they carry even after all those amazing discoveries.
It will take long before all of them to get back to the way it used to be. Luckily the kind dog lovers all over the world offered donations to help. They even made cute statements saying that they wanted to share their toys with OJ. All these kindnesses gave the family of OJ hope, and Oj was grateful for all the love and support he received.
The small things that count
Families like OJ’s, there will be no easy return after all that destruction. But thanks to his favorite toy, things are finally back to normal again. Sometimes it takes a small step, a happy moment that things will get better. And the excitement of OJ made that very clear.
There are still plenty of people and animals in Australia that need help. Many institutions worked together to make sure that the victims of the fire got the medical care they needed. Please donate if you want to help make a difference.
