Some dogs are born with a disability that makes them undesirable for people to adopt. They require special care, therapy and sometimes, surgery, which can cost a lot of money. Because of the extra responsibilities and costs needed to care for these dogs, most people are unwilling to adopt them.
Three pit bull puppies named Samiel, Uriel, and Gabriel were born with a disability called Swimmer Puppy Syndrome. This disability causes the legs to be splayed out, which causes mobility issues. All three puppies are unable to walk properly.
In most cases, puppies with Swimmer Puppy Syndrome are euthanized. Thankfully, the three puppies were fostered by two women named Heather and Kat. Heather and Kat are dog lovers who are devoted to rescuing and fostering dogs with disabilities. They work very hard to help rehabilitate special needs dogs and find forever homes for them.
When the three puppies found their way into Heather and Kat’s home, they immediately started rehabilitation. Kat and Heather did everything for the puppies to help them walk. They researched the internet and even consulted with specialists about the condition of the three puppies.
Kat and Heather always intended to help the three puppies get adopted. They weren’t sure if they’re able to walk properly again, but they didn’t give up. They even had the three puppies on hydrotherapy to help them exercise their leg muscles.
After months of therapy, Gabriel and Uriel were finally walking on all fours. They were eventually adopted by families who shower them with love and attention. They also continued therapy. Samiel was the last one under Kat and Heather’s care.
However, it didn’t take long for Kat and Heather to realize that Samiel is already part of their family. Samiel grew up in their care, and Kat and Heather knew that they’re the best family for Samiel. They decided to adopt her for good. Here’s a heartwarming video of three puppies with Swimmers Syndrome finding their forever homes.
