Dogs are skillful and have a lot of talents. Some of them are great in a game of catch, some are good at painting, while others are good at following commands and doing fun tricks.

For the last skill mentioned above, a lot of dogs are very smart in showing off their tricks, such as rolling over or giving a handshake. But one dog stands out from the crowd with his trick – thanks to his acting skills.

Many dog owners like to go beyond teaching their furry friends the basics. Some of them even seriously train their dogs to do fun tricks as well. In this video, a man managed to capture the trick he taught his German Shepherd named Sam.

Let’s just say that Sam certainly deserves a yummy treat for her acting skills.

If you are thinking of training your dog at home, you can browse The Cesar’s Way website which gives tips on how to teach your dog the five essential commands. These are how to sit, stay, down, come, and leave it. After doing each one, the dog is given a treat.

As for Sam, she was excited to get a treat reward as well. As seen in the video, the man is informing Sam that he’s got a treat for her. Sam looks at him quietly and patiently. All of a sudden, the man shouts, “bang!”

The adorable pooch, hearing the man’s signal, gives out a small cry and makes a spin on the floor. She quickly drops on the floor and lays still as if she was completely lifeless.

The man immediately praises her and says, “Good girl!” Bravo for Sam! It was a dramatic performance, indeed. Training your dog is one very important part of being a responsible dog owner. However, we are also allowed to have a little fun with them too!

Watch Sam’s dramatic acting below and see for yourself.

Some time ago, I had a dog. It was a beautiful Dalmatian dog called Basil. We got him as a puppy. Unfortunately, when he was less than one year old, he started having epileptic fits. We took him to a doctor, and he prescribed him some medication that had to be given to him twice a day, but still, he had the fits from time to time. He grew to be a big a strong dog, so when he had a fit, the nearby furniture was flying everywhere. It was very distressing for us. Otherwise, he was a very loving but mischievous dog. Especially when our food was served on the table, he would jump and steal the meat. Very naughty. Obviously, we didn’t teach him good manners. He loved eating raw courgettes. So life with Basil was very happy but not very easy. When he was six years old, he had a fit but couldn’t come out from it. Our vet took him to his surgery but was not successful, and after a conference with us had to put him to sleep. We were devastated, especially my children. So now we just have a lot of happy memories and our photos. To honor Basil's legacy, I continue to write articles about fun-loving dogs that remind me of him. I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I do!
